Cataloochee Ski Area
The Cataloochee Ski Area is located in the Great Smoky Mountains and is less than 20 minutes from Peppertree Maggie Valley resort. They feature 18 slopes and trails that cover easy to more difficult to most difficult and freestyle. All skiers will have access to 5 different lift systems to get you to your trail. If someone in your party needs to take lessons, be sure to make arrangements for the ski & snowboard school that is available. Equipment including bibs, jackets, goggles, gloves, hats and more is available for rent or sale at the Cataloochee Ski & Sports Shop.
Tube World is also available from the Cataloochee Ski Area but is located in the town of Maggie Valley. One hour and forty-five minute sessions are offered every two hours. There is a 42″ height requirement. They do offer a Wee Bowl Play Area for the smaller children but it is on a limited basis depending on snowmaking capabilities.
